Rev. Rhett Ansley was appointed on June 1, 2014, to follow the founding pastor of the church, Rev. Rusti Moore. Rhett grew up in Daisetta, Texas, a small community in Southeast Texas. Nurtured in the faith as a child in a small congregation, he began regularly participating in worship as a pianist when he was in the third grade. After graduating from high school, he attended the former Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas, where he earned an Associate of Fine Art. He then attended The University of Texas at Tyler and completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy. Answering a call to ordained ministry in the church, Rhett attended Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University where he earned a Master of Divinity. Previous appointments for Rhett include serving as the student pastor of Noonday UMC, the chaplain and dean of students at Lon Morris College, and as senior associate at First UMC Longview.
